Dr Tamara Jones-Hood is the only director in the Riverina with a PhD in Education and has 30 years experience in teaching in the primary, secondary and tertiary contexts and in academic research (Australian and international). Tamara began to tutor students in 1994 as an HSC High Achiever and Arts/Law undergraduate and found she enjoyed teaching so much she changed degrees to focus on Education. This passion and extensive teaching experience allows her to comprehensively guide her staff as they provide learning support for our many students. All of our tutors are tertiary qualified teachers currently working in government and non-government schools who have thorough reference and background checks before joining the ACHIEVE team.
OUR LEARNING PHILOSOPHY
ACHIEVE takes an innovative and individualised approach to the support of our students’ learning. We develop a program and curriculum for each student and create individualised learning resources - they do not have to fit in with a predesigned (and often unsuitable) curriculum. All team members at ACHIEVE are focused on providing the highest quality tuition as we use a student-centred learning philosophy which fosters the overall intellectual and emotional growth of each individual.

The qualified educators at Achieve are all specialists in the subjects they teach (not university undergraduates but actual teachers and specialists in their fields), have current Working with Children clearance and have had thorough background and reference checks prior to joining the Achieve team. Working under the guidance of Dr Tamara Jones-Hood, the teachers are able to use high quality teaching and learning strategies that are differentiated to meet each student's individual needs.
